- Give the date vehicle is ready for pick up
- Make sure to say if you have any special requests for your car
Moving Your Car to a New Location
We find and assign a driver. This process can take anywhere from 1-7 days depending on location of drivers. We make sure driver’s Insurance and licensing is current. The driver will call to arrange the best pick-up time. Possibly a different pick-up location as well. Car carriers are exceptionally large and can’t really fit into some residential areas. The new pickup location will usually be a large parking area within 10 miles of your location.
Prepare Your Car for Transport
Make sure you’ve removed any items from inside the car and prepared your car for shipping using our handy auto shipping checklist. The driver will arrive to pick up your car. Fill out the BOL (Bill of Landing). Don’t worry about missing the driver they will call when they are close to you and then again when they are at the location.
Transporting Your Car to a New Destination
Cars can take shorter or longer times to arrive at there destination based upon the miles they are traveling. All our transport drivers abide by the regulations of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration or MSCA. Paying close attention to the safety regulations.
500 or less miles can take 1-2 days
500-1000 miles can take3-4 days
1000-2000 miles can take 5-7 days
2000 miles and up can take 7-10 days possibly more
The driver will call to arrange the best drop-off time.
Your Car Arrives
Car arrives and you fill out the Bill of Landing again. Make sure both you and the driver go over the BOL to make sure the car arrives in the same condition it was picked up in. Pay the remaining balance to the driver in cash or cashier’s check (minus the deposit).
These are the step that go into transporting your vehicle from one destination to another. We here at Carnections hope that by giving you this information you can go into the process of moving your car with as little fuss as possible.
